"People Like Us"

After watching the video clips, i have noticed that they talk about the people within the society. Lot of people are diverse and they all have different thoughts and opinion about the surroundings. They talk about the needs and necessities, the things that we need to live ever days of our lives. for example i have recognized the part in the video where they talked about money. i personally think we don't want the money but we need to live, its a must necessities because in the world we live its always going to be hard to get what we really need. that why we want money to achieve that certain "needs". Although its a fact that a lot of rich people are not really rich because its a passing on from their ancestors. majority of us working to get to that point of richness where we think we have enough but we don't. because to some people, money isn't never enough because they were born in money and they willing to make more and more because that is what they do. Those people who are higher earners are considered as high class people. because its a fact that people who are wealthy, tend to control middle class and lower class, The high class are mostly who owns their own business, or industry or even cooperate companies where there middle class working for better income then lower casts. the lower class are the one that always want more  of what the next class has. more money , better life style, more power and stable yearly income, its always a challenge because one needs to earn enough to consider as high class people or move up to that position. but ultimately , the most riches come from passing on from ancestors because that is what it makes to stay still on upper class, passing on all the money from previous generations. BUT  if there is way if someone from lower cast can earn enough to move up to the wealthy position. i would believe that people wouldn't consider them because they weren't born and be looked up differently.

Although there are many advisement in the field of median , the one that got my attention was the video with "killing us softly "It shows significant impact in the world of media where we really need to know about what is going on around the world. Ads are all over the places, and it attracts almost everyone that pay attentions. There are varies ads  that are important and we need them, such as educational ad, jobs, recreations and such. Specially in the ad, Killing us softy it shows the ads of woman in the field of median in modern era, There are many ads that involves woman in ads now involves sexual contents.for example i saw an ad few days ago about Victoria secret items where woman almost naked showing of new "bra" and "panties" for the female consumers. This allow as to think through about how this modern era are really open world in the media. all ages are able to see this types of Ads where woman are completely reveled and we are watching without questions whether if its right or wrong.
     its agreeable that now days, men are bound to see feminine side in media we do not questions our self if showing us media without clothes is wrong or right. media just do so because they know what people want to see,They want people to get attract and buy their product of what ever the items are involving woman or man. The men also have a big impact in the media. for instance, "holister" a clothing company shows a lot of ads about new arrival clothes of which involves youth. I recently went shopping at holister  and i paid close attention about the ads that was posted up along the wall shows shirtless boy with a skinny jeans. This emphasize, how  the jeans looks on the someones body, we want to see how good we look and the media tend to give their best to involve us buying their product in return to fit in. we tend to believe that  buying products from the ads make us look "Sexier" just like that person in the ads whether if its a girl or boy.
The film also shows the important of feminine and masculine of both gender in society. we often catch "Hot" girl with sexual content in them .for example body spray "old spice"  the video shows how woman "moans" in the video where the guy sprays himself with perfume. The keyword moans is purely feminine and the ads/video allows us to believe we have close social connection between man and woman in current days. Often we see both genders ""rubbing" on each in medias because we accept that in current days, we dont think its bad because we WANTED to see that. its part of our every day life and we cannot questions them for it.

 The film involve socialization in chapter 6 because what we see in media are norms to all of us as a whole. We are all connected our objects everyday we see around us because this is what make us social. to accept and live with it. its one of our norm and we value it because we continue live by it without trying to change it.

Social Structure

            Social Structure is really an important to an community as a whole. For this particular assignment i have observed an homeless person around my neighbor. I observed that individual's behavior few times that i haven't paid close attention before. but it was very obvious that if a home person standing in corner of the subway station its mean he wants money. so i gave him few dollars , in a process i started to talk to him where usually people bypass them more then they wanted to talk. My conversation lead to asking few question about that homeless person. Sometimes people dislike them or hate because of what they wearing but to me i find it very important because, even thought he/she is homeless, that person is part of society. i asked him about his personal life,but the most important part of is that he belongs in a society.Often  people excludes the often because they either not belong in that neighbor or maybe they not normal like rest of the people who goes to work and earn their livings. i have known that, the homeless person background was Irish decedents .He also an ex veteran , he does have kids but surprisingly he is homeless. but importantly i observed him during the school days, Where he was in the same spot as always. On Monday when i got off from work in morning i came home and getting ready for school, on my way out i saw him standing in the corner of subway. the following day i saw him there as well same spot. i asked that person how he is doing, he actually replied politely, i brought him a cup of coffee and gave him money and a walked away.
       
          The thing is that if that same homeless person were somewhere in city, Front of official building standing there so people can give him money, He would get rejected right away because we know that higher class people would not allow that to happen loitering in a zone where no particular people should be hanging out. or that place could be fully guarded by security guard knowing that its an official build for rich people. often these people in city don't takes homeless person lightly because they believe he/she is an outcast. The wealthy people might treat them differently because they know they can get away with anything or that matter they are not properly clean to be near us. Often white collar people might think homeless person don't have any rights or wrong importantly we know that the homeless people are everywhere but there are some places they cannot be hanging out begging for money. I live in Brooklyn so they are everywhere and i almost see few of them very often .

        One thing i realized is that my observant was really polite, Because there are some homeless person begs for money really negative ways, cussing , yelling or that matter not asking nicely for money.i realized that my observant was really a cool person because he was begging for money but he knows how to ask. what he said was can you offer me some change "please". that tells a lot because from that, we know he is a respectable person, asking nicely for money, but what i did was , not give him money the second time to see the differences .The next day i also happen to see him there standing at same spot begging for money.He noticed me coming, but he didn't hesitate to ask for money even tho he knows i gave him money before and i would give him now. i realized the way he asked for money, because i really have respect for these people even them a lot of people consider them as outcasts. i realized "please" the way he asked for money so i gave him a dollar, i didn't buy him coffee this time to see what he says about it. he didn't say anything . as i walk away  and i told him "have a nice day", he replied " you too" . it occurs to me that even though he does not have his family with him to support him , i believe he is part of a social hierarchy because where i live there are no separate who can belong here or not, all kind of people are accepted here because here, there are no rich people, or rich office buildings to separated that individual from begging for money . But he is regular person just like any other and he is a part of social structure, but one difference is that majority of have a houses to settle in, families to look after and love, but in this case that home person all alone trying to survive.

My name Ollie.H  Originally from Bangladesh, now residing in New york City, i came to American 12 years ago and now living my families. i am currently attending borough of Manhattan community college. although there a lot of things to say, i will just mention few of the things that are important to me as individual. i like people, i think its a great ways learn just by being around diverse people ,because there always new things and opinion you can agree and disagree with . different culture and way it make me curious about them and wanting to know more and learn about them, which allows me to analyze them of who they and how are their culture differs from mine. i like to make friend, its always an new adventure when you make a new friend because there is always something new about them. their interest, what they like and dislike, what they want from people. Always brings question about , how are we different from each other. I have goals , my goal is to be come a xray- technician (still undecided), i choose this field of because it interests me. I  wanted to be successful, it does not matter whether i become a businessman where all the money are or  i become someone that makes decent salary to make my living, as long as i accomplish my goal that's all that matter, i have hobbies. one of my favorite is going gym and be active, i like working and take care of my self, not just because of getting he perfect you wanted but most importantly i work out because its good for health overall..although there are a lot of stuff to mentioned here..i just leave at that.

teenage waste land

 " The Teen Age Wasteland" by Tyler, Anne


              An interesting story which grabbed my attention in way how parenting works to raise certain youth.
In this story it describe how children behaves and ability to acquire some sort of education. knowing that the story took place during 1970's it was difficult to send their child rent to school where they can really achieve good knowledge and be successful. Though this story mainly about Donny, who was a young man trying to survive in "real" world. Donny's really an irresponsible boy who have hard time learning in school. Donny mom talks with principle and telling how Donny performance is lacking good grade in class. He is very disruptive and not responsive in class.  Later on it seems that being asked to supervised about donny's home, his grade gradually improved but his behavior no acceptable, because donny could be a smoker or even drinker. As grade were extremely bad , he was provided a tutor by a psychologist who recommended. He was asked to meet him few days a week for help that he wanted so that he can do good in school. as this continue,  the progress to help Donny to improve his ability to do good in his class, he does not do good very well, it seems the tutor didn't help, nor the supervised of his own mom. Eventually his grade were really bad , his behavior really didn't improved what's so ever and eventually he is expelled from school.

           This tells how about how a children might end if not raised properly, some parents have different way of raising and some not. For instance an educated parent want to raise a children so that he can also be just like the parents were raised, Educated, Well respected and honored, if that same children don't raise as according he will end up on street with other uneducated who drinks or smoke. also this explained to us that we sometimes as children have our own responsible to look after. Sometimes we have to deal with our own problem and no depend on parents for everything. so in this came Donnie was supposedly not raised as properly which caused this problem to occur on first place. which ultimately result in bad reputation as kid and also the parent

what is Culture ?

culture is really diverse yet important to societies we live in . There are many cultures that exist now days, and we live in many divers one. I came from a culture that is not as same as American culture, Back where i came from they used to dress different, We have different food , The style of writing and reading, Way we greet people, In American culture its different to me because i was not born to accept it. I learn to accept to because even tho im a foreigner i learned the American way of dressing , i adjusted to the environment they live in , which is much different then where i lived before i migrated to America. learned to accept the writing and language because it is important that i accept since i basically live here and will live in for rest of my life.

    Culture can also be a lot of thing such as music itself. The understanding of music is important because this is the music define what America is. in my country the music is different, We don't have different genre of music such as , jazz, rap, techno .BUT also at same time this is exactly what culture means, the different variety of things people share ad do .

CULTURE +100 points

diversity of culture is really an interesting factor in every day lives. Around the world people live different from each other. for Instance my country is Bangladesh and we have different ways of living from other countries around the world.

This is an example of an culture in Bangladesh, that how some people live everyday of their lives throughout generations and share common interest with each other.

 There are factor that defines a culture diversities. such as the thing we eat, its really is different from American culture because, we have a traditional food that we depend on such as spice which to make curry.

        One main thing about culture the tradition they carry on. different culture have different tradition to celebrate.  for example for Muslim people, we have holy day which is know as Eid Mubarak which supposed to be a happy days for all of us and gather together for celebrate. that day we cook different food, we pray and most of all have fun.

This is an traditional way of Muslim people pray in Bangladesh. this happens only during eid Mubarak , thought only happens 2 times a year since there are 2 eid celebrations.

This picture represent the respect between young kids also the adults, The hugging means its a Islamic greeting and the most respectable way to do so. but also this isn't in my country only , in Saudi Arabia majority people kiss on cheek or hug to show that they are welcome and respected.

another important thing about this celebration is that, during every year in my country we hold an bullfighting competition. its really an looking forward to an event because each bull from different village bring their strongest bull to fight against another bull from different village,
